Below is a list of online resources to help you when studying the bible. Each one of these resources are what we consider to be using the Literal Interpretation method. When studying the Bible we must be consistent in our method and the right way is a literal approach, otherwise called the grammatical-historical method. If we use any allegory you automatically default to an allegorical interpretation and this can interfere with the whole truth of the Bible.
Below is a list of some of our favorite websites that we use from time to time
A chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse commentary by Pastor David Guzik. Compiled over 20 years many chapters are available in audio as well as written format. We recommend studying through the Bible a book at a time, one chapter at a time and Enduring Word is great for it. David Guzik gives plenty of grammar and historical context to help you understand the text and context. < LINK HERE >
John MacArthur is a Literalist applying the grammatical-historical method to his study and teachings. We use Grace To You when we want to look up a particular verse or passage of scripture for more context and meaning. At Grace To You when you search Luke 8:5 for example you will see a list of sermons, blogs and/or Q&A's by John MacArthur pertaining to that particular verse. < LINK HERE >
Bible questions with answers. Got questions is a useful tool we use when studying topics outside of the bible, such as theology. For example, if you want to learn more about what the Bible says about the Trinity you can search your question and read the answers. There are over 760,000 questions answered and can be a helpful tool. Remember to always, check against scripture. < LINK HERE >
